Speaking Experience

In an attempt to bring value to the age-old debate and to expand my skill set in the tech industry, I spent the past year transitioning from the title of graphic designer to front-end developer. At this event, I discussed my journey, my time spent at a coding bootcamp, and the positives and negatives of having a background in design as a developer.

It’s a common occurrence in the code community, and most people don’t even know they’re doing it. Let’s dive into the top mistakes developers make when interacting with one another and how to become a more encouraging communicator. This talk included familiar triggers that dishearten coders, ways to be more cognizant of your communication methods, and how to foster a more inclusive environment in the workplace and community at large.

Community Involvement


Suncoast Developers Guild hosts kids classes one night per week for a four week period teaching kids ages 8-12 fundamentals of HTML structure, the box model, CSS, typography, JavaScript, and programming.

Teaching Assistant

St. Pete Coder Dojo provides computer science and STEM education to kids in an after school setting.

In these classes, students create programs with different kinds of loops, events, functions, and conditionals. They also investigate different problem-solving techniques and discuss societal impacts of computing and the internet.
